MOSCOW, September 9 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Auditing Chamber has proposed that the Money Laundering Task Force of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) should be given permanent status as its activity is crucial to the disruption of terrorist financing. This proposal will be voiced at the 28th INTOSAI congress, to be held in October, the Auditing Chamber says in a press release.

The Chair of the Russian Auditing Chamber, Sergei Stepashin, spoke about its efforts to disrupt terrorist financing networks at Thursday's meeting with a South Korean parliamentary delegation, headed by Kim Hek Ken, presidential adviser on economics. The delegation was sent in as part of preparations for President Roh Moo Hyun's visit to Moscow later this month.

The sides spoke for more intensive cooperation between Russian and South Korean audit institutions and expressed confidence that parallel or joint audits would help improve economic relations between the two countries, including in areas such as power engineering, processing of natural resources, car manufacturing, high technologies, and the development of marine reserves.
