MOSCOW, September 9 (RIA Novosti) - Allegations of Russia loath to join the Kyoto protocol are all wrong, said Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as newsmen asked him to comment those allegations, which certain Western-based media outlets are circulating.
Russia is willing to ratify the protocol as soon as possible, said President Vladimir Putin while in conference with the European Union leading three in Moscow, last May. His reassurance holds good to this day. However, President Putin pointed out Russia's concern over pledges it will take with the protocol ratified-and its alarm has not been dispelled yet, stressed the Foreign Minister.
