MOSCOW, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - The tax inspection has levied upon YUKOS the additional worth of 79 billion roubles in 2001 taxes and penalties ($1 equals 29.21 roubles), reports YUKOS press-secretary Alexander Shadrin.

It was on September 3 that the tax ministry faced YUKOS with its ruling on making the company responsible for the under-payment of taxes in 2001 to the tune of about 120 billion roubles.

In the opinion of the company, the tax ministry decided to recover 79.271 billion roubles from YUKOS outside courtroom. "The tax ministry decided to avoid any legal proceedings connected with tax and penalty recovery calculated in 2001 but to recover them extrajudicially," noted Shadrin.

YUKOS believes that bailiffs are to unite two executive proceedings to levy upon the company an aggregate tax debt worth 400 billion roubles.

"In our opinion, the bailiff service will unify executive proceedings on the decision of September 6, 2004 and on the decision of the Moscow Court of Arbitration of May 26, 2004 this year into a free executive proceeding so as to embark on the disposal of the YUKOS property (in particular, its main subsidiary Yugansneftegas shares) for the purpose of meeting the aggregate debt," noted Shadrin.

The recovery of the 2001 fines, which amount to 40 billion roubles, will be anyway a judicial action, which will take four to six weeks before the decision comes into force, said Shadrin.
