The meeting, chaired by the agency's head Vyacheslav Fetisov, was attended by Vitaly Semyonov, director of the Russian Anti-Doping Center; Nikolai Durmanov, director of the anti-doping inspection of the Russian Olympic Committee; Valentin Saninsky, chief of the board for medico-biological support for national teams of the Federal Agency; Valery Kulichenko, senior coach of the Russian track-and-field national team; and Nikolai Parkhomenko, chief of the sport training center.
One of the main questions in discussion was the situation around shot putter Irina Korzhanenko. Her doping probes taken on August 12 and immediately upon return home from the Games have not shown traces of banned substances. Now, the goal is to learn how they could be discovered in the system of the gold winning shot putter on August 18.
Fetisov's advisor Dmitry Tugarin told RIA Novosti that the final results of the study into all positive probes can be talked of after September 14.
Tugarin said that all talk of imperfect equipment in the Russian Anti-Doping Agency is groundless because traces of banned substances could have been revealed by even 20-year-old equipment.
Referring to Valentin Saninsky, head of the Russian delegation's medical centre at the Athens Olympics, Tugarin said that over 600 doping probes were taken from athletes before going to Athens. "We have never before taken such unprecedented doping-probe measures regarding Olympic athletes," Tugarin said.
