The Russian UES' press-release on Tuesday reports that the document was signed by head of the Russian energy holding Anatoly Chubais and Datang's president Chzhai Zhoui.
According to the press-release, the signed memorandum emphasizes the need of developing relations between Russian UES and Datang corporation and expresses mutual aspiration for strategic partnership in the energy sphere.
"The sides do not rule out the possibility of considering joint national and international projects in the area of infrastructure development, maintenance and reconstruction of production capacities and exchange of scientific and technical information", reads the press-release.
Datang corporation was established in 2002 in the process of reforming China's energy industry and is one of five power generating companies currently operating in that country.
In 2003 the total output of the corporation's plants amounted to 40,000 megawatt. Companies, owned by the corporation, are stationed in 21 provinces of China.
