SCO EXECUTIVE SECRETARY CHZHAN DEGUAN DENOUNCES TERRORIST ATTACKS IN RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT

BEIJING, August 30 (RIA Novosti) - The Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) executive secretary denounced the terrorist attacks in two passenger airliners last week, which killed all the passengers and crewmembers onboard two civilian aircraft (totally 90 persons), reads Mr. Deguan's message to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov forwarded on Monday.

He also expressed his condolences to families and relatives of the killed Russians.

"The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, emphasizes the message, speaks out against all forms of terrorism and firmly supports the Russian government's policy and activities in combating terrorism and maintaining sovereignty and territorial integrity".

Chzhan Deguan pointed out that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization would continue to strengthen cooperation between its members on the issues of security and struggle against terrorism, separatism and extremism and work towards maintaining regional peace and stability.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in the capacity of a regional cooperation organization, was established in June 2001 by Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
