DOCUMENT ON RUSSIA'S ACCESSION TO CENTRAL ASIAN COOPERATION ORGANIZATION INITIALED

ASTANA, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - The document on Russia's accession to the Central Asian Cooperation Organization (CACO) has been initialed at the session of CACO foreign ministers on Saturday, Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayev said after the session.

Russia has joined the Central Asian Cooperation Organization at the CACO extraordinary summit in Astana on May 28, 2004.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan signed the agreement on the CACO foundation in February 2002.

The key activities of the Central Asian Cooperation Organization are the following: development of integration processes aimed at regional stability and security, optimal mutually beneficial links and favorable environment for further internal reforms.
