FEDERAL SPACE AGENCY HEAD APPROVES CREW OF 10TH ISS EXPEDITION

MOSCOW, August 28 (RIA Novosti) - On Saturday the head of the Russian Federal Space Agency, Anatoly Perminov, has approved the prime and backup crews of the 10th main expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) and the crew of the 7th visiting expedition.

The crew comprises Salizhan Sharipov (Russia), Soyuz TMA commander and ISS flight engineer, and Leroy Chiao (U.S.), ISS commander and 1st Soyuz TMA flight engineer.

The crew of the 7th visiting expedition includes Russian Yuri Shargin, 2nd flight engineer. Valery Tokarev (Russia), Soyuz TMA commander and ISS flight engineer, and William McArthur (U.S.), ISS commander and 1st Soyuz TMA flight engineer, were appointed backups.

The cosmonauts and astronauts will keep training in the Cosmonaut Training Center and the Baikonur cosmodrome until the launch of the spacecraft.
