PARIS, AUGUST 27 (RIA Novosti's Andrei Nizamutdinov) - France supports the reformative effort of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his desire for a strong Russia to be rooted in the democratic camp, French President Chirac has said on Friday.
Appearing before a traditional conference of French ambassadors abroad, the French head of state expressed confidence that his upcoming meeting with Putin in Sochi, to be attended by the FRG Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, will be held "in the atmosphere of friendship and confidence".
