STATISTICS SERVICE ON FOREIGN TRADE TURNOVER, INVESTMENTS, INCOMES

MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - The Federal State Statistics Service is circulating a paper for basic economic indices of the initial half-year.

The foreign trade turnover, calculated in actual prices on payment balance methods, was $120,950,000,000-a spectacular 25% above January into June 2003. Exports accounted for $78,631 million, a 25.2% increase, and imports $42,319 million, +24.7%, with a $36,312 million surplus.

Output and consumer service offer for the five basic economic branches-industry, construction, farming, transport and retail trade-increased by 6.3% last month, as against July 2003. A respective increase for the first half-year was 7.6%.

July's industrial output and related services amounted to 959 billion rubles in current prices ($1=29.2 rubles). The increase against July 2003 is 4.4%. Respective figures for the first half-year are 6,078 million rubles and 7 per cent.

The retail trade turnover for July 2004 was 456,500 million rubles-12.3% more than in July 2003 in terms of the commodity amount. Respective figures for the first half-year are 2,980,300 million rubles and 11.3%.

Fixed asset capital investment made 230,100 million rubles, July-a 10.7% increase against July 2003. The increase for July 2003 was 10.9% against July 2002, and 1.1% against June 2003.

The first half-year 2004 sent such investment 12.3% up against the same months 2003, which raised it by 11.7% against H1 2002.

The population's real disposable incomes-i.e., calculated with deduction of compulsory fees and taxes corrected by the consumer price index-grew by 9.7%, January into June, as against the first half-year 2003. The rise for July was 10.6% against July 2003.

The average per capita monetary income made 6,287 rubles a month, July-2.7% more than in July 2003.

Average monthly wages were at 7,143 rubles, July-a 26.2% increase against July 2003, say preliminary calculations.
