ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS CUT DOWN CHOLESTEROL

MOSCOW, August 13 (RIA Novosti) - Scientists from the Puschino-based Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences have proposed a new method for cutting down cholesterol in blood plasma, the magazine Khimia i Zhizn (Chemistry and Life) says. Their method is that it exposes the body to superweak electromagnetic fields in bio-resonance therapy.

The bio-resonance therapy device is made up of an impulse generator with electrodes and magnetic inductors. The magnetic field strength is comparable to the natural magnetic field of the earth. In the test group of eight people each had high cholesterol with ensuing signs of cardiac angina and arterial hypertension. Each session of treatment consisted of alternating actions of electromagnetic field and weak current. Each session lasted 25 to 35 minutes. At least seven sessions were held at intervals from three to seven days. Time of treatment depended on the condition of the patient. If he felt much better, treatment ended. The patients were kept under observation during five to six months.

Results of electromagnetic treatment showed that all of them registered fewer signs of cardiac angina and a lower blood pressure. Cholesterol in blood plasma fell by 38% as compared with the initial level.
