RIGA, AUGUST 10 (RIA Novosti) - The case of the family of ex-Soviet serviceman Nikolai Slivenko, his wife Tatiana and daughter Karina, found in 1999 by the European Human Rights Court as unlawfully expelled from Latvia, will be revised. The decision was taken on Tuesday by the senate of the Latvian Supreme Court.

It reversed the 1998 ruling of the Riga district court on deporting Tatiana and Karina, permanently living in Latvia, as family members of a former Soviet serviceman, who is allegedly to be expelled from the country under the 1994 interstate agreement.

The press service of the Latvian Supreme Court said that the Slivenkos case will be referred for consideration by the district administrative court.

The ruling of the European Human Rights Court intends restoration of the Slivenkos' legal residence status in Latvia and their right to housing. The aged and ailing parents of Tatiana Slivenko reside in Riga.
