MOSCOW, August 9 (RIA Novosti) - Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow and All Russia has approved a draft of a unique Serbian photo album, "Bird's-Eye View of Moscow." The patriarch worked on the book.

On Monday at his working residence in Moscow, he received a delegation from the Serbian publishing house Prosveta, which is publishing the book. The book is unique because all the pictures were taken from a helicopter.

The patriarch looked through the draft copy of the book and blessed it.

"I worked on this album for many years - since the 1990s - to show how Moscow and its architecture have changed since the arrival of democracy," Vlastimir Shone, the photographer and author of the book, said in an interview with RIA Novosti. "During these ten years I have taken about 500 photographs."

According to him, the patriarch's blessing and introduction will be at the beginning of the book and the first print run will be 1,000 copies.

Politicians, public figures and religious leaders will attend the presentation of the book in Belgrade and Moscow during the second half of September.

The album will also be presented at the Frankfurt and Moscow book fairs.

The first edition is being printed with the support of the Moscow government and the information support of the Moscow Patriarchate.
