GASOLINE PRICES IN RUSSIA ROSE BY 2.7 PER CENT OVER JULY

MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - According to the bulletin of the Federal State Statistics Service, 3,942,000 tons of primary crude oil were distilled in Russia over seven days from July 19 to 25, showing a 8.5% increase from the previous seven-day period.

Gasoline production increased by 1.7% over this period - to 603,000 tons, and diesel fuel production - by 13.4%, to 1,117,000 tons.

Meanwhile, retail and wholesale traders reduced gasoline sales by 1.5% and 5.3% and increased its reserves by 2.2% and 6.1%, respectively, over the seven days from July 19 to 25, as against the previous seven-day period.

Over the same period, consumer motor gasoline prices in Russia rose by 0.2% on average, and over July as a whole - by 2.7%.

The prices of A-76 gasoline (AI-80 and other brands) rose by 0.1%, of AI-92 gasoline (AI-93, etc.) - 0.2%, and AI-95 gasoline (and higher brands) - by 0.3%. Since the start of this year, the prices of gasoline of these brands have increased by 18.2%, 17.1% and 15%, respectively, while the country's average gasoline prices have risen by 17.3% over this period.

The average consumer gasoline price has reached 12.36 roubles, and the prices of the above-mentioned brands - 10.66, 13.19 and 14.37 roubles, respectively (with one dollar being roughly equivalent to 29 roubles).

Last week, a rise in gasoline prices was registered in 23 centres of the Russian Federation's constituent members. Among the territorial centres of the Russian Federation (except autonomous areas incorporated into a territory or region), the highest rise in prices was registered in Orenburg - by 2.4%, including the prices of the AI-92 and higher brands - by 4.1%, and those of the AI-95 and higher brands - by 3.8%.

In 61 centres of the Russian Federation's constituent members, gasoline prices have stayed unchanged.

Gasoline has become cheaper in four centres of the Russian Federation's constituent members, with the highest drop in gasoline prices being registered in Kaliningrad - by 0.2%, including the prices of the AI-92 (AI-93, etc.) brands, and AI-95 and higher brands - by 0.3%.

In Moscow, motor gasoline prices have been kept practically at the same level. In St. Petersburg, gasoline prices have risen by an average of.2% .
