MOSCOW, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Gasprom concern extracted 276.8 billion cubic metres of natural gas, last January into June-1.4 per cent more than in the first half-year 2003, and 1.5 billion cu m above approved national objectives, the corporate mammoth says in a press release circulated today.

24.4 billion cu m was taken from underground gas-holders within the initial half-year-1.8 billion below blueprints, what with last winter's mild weather.

The concern uses the same explanation for domestic consumer use dropping by 1.4 billion cu m against an earmarked 200 billion, complete with gas extracted by independent companies and petroleum companies' casing-head gas.

Gas exports exceeded the objective by 8.5 billion cubic metres to 127.6 billion.
