In May Gazprom's board approved the concept of consolidating the company's assets and its affiliate enterprises in the sphere of gas distribution. The consolidation concept provides for establishing a separate gas distribution company Mezhregiongazholding.
At the first phase of the holding establishment, 99% of the shares will belong to Gazprom's 100% affiliate Mezhregiongaz, while 1% will be owned by Lentransgaz.
The company's shares will be paid for in facilities of the gas distribution networks, monetary assets, shares of gas distribution enterprises or other instruments.
The holding will accumulate the gas distribution networks, currently owned by the gas concern, its affiliates in the sphere of gas transportation and Regiongazholding.
Alexander Ryazanov, deputy chairman of Gazprom's board stated that perhaps in a few years Mezhregiongazholding's shares would quote on the Russian stock exchange.
Speaking about the volume of the holding's assets, Mr. Ryazanov pointed out that it was estimated at 22 billion rubles, while the company's turn-over might reach $2 billion within four or five years.
