ANAPA, July 22 (RIA Novosti) - The president's plenipotentiary in the Southern Federal District Vladimir Yakovlev hopes that the Black Sea coast will become as attractive for holiday-makers as in the Soviet time.

"In the years to come it is necessary to establish such conditions that up to 25 million citizens come to have rest at the Black Sea shore, as it was in the Soviet era", said Mr. Yakovlev at a meeting in Anapa devoted to the resort development.

The meeting, held before the session of the State Council's board, was attended by representatives of the Russian Railways, the Transport Ministry and the Krasnodar territory administration.

"No one speaks out against developing tourism in Kuban. There are various proposals how to do it", said Mr. Yakovlev.

In his opinion, the issue of the railroad running along the seashore and interfering with good recreation requires settlement.

There are several options of improving the Black Sea shore. One of them is to put the railroad into casing to reduce noise, another option is to make a branch line bypass the towns, said the plenipotentiary.

One of the most interesting projects, in Mr. Yakovlev's opinion, is transfer of the railroad. At the same time, he explained that it required the government's decision. Besides, according to him, it is necessary to establish a joint stock company, which would be interested in developing the project.

According to the plenipotentiary, implementation of the project would allow construction of the facilities capable of accommodating 35 thousand holiday-makers only along the section from Tuapse to Adler.
