KIEV MONASTERY HOLDS SERVICE TO COMMEMORATE EMPEROR NICHOLAS II ON ANNIVERSARY OF HIS MURDER

KIEV, July 18 (RIA Novosti) - The Kievo-Pechersky Monastery in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, has held services in commemoration of Russian Emperor Nicholas II and members of his family, who were slain by the Bolsheviks 86 years ago.

Some two hundred people from all across Ukraine and beyond attended the memorial services for the monarch, canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church in August 2000 and by the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia in 1981.
