2 TERRORISTS ELIMINATED IN INGUSHETIA

NAZRAN, July 16 (RIA Novosti) - Two militants who had participated in the attack on Ingushetia on July 22 were eliminated as a result of the Interior Ministry's special operation, a source in the Republic's Interior Ministry told RIA Novosti on Friday.

In his words, yesterday policemen blocked up a trailer with suspects Islam Khutiyev and Kazbulat Malsagov.

"The militants refused to surrender and threw two hand-grenades at the policemen. Commander Timur Mogushkov and policeman Isa Yevloyev were wounded as a result," RIA Novosti's interlocutor said.

Khutiyev and Malsagov were killed by return fire.

Meanwhile, the Ingush law enforcers found a cache with weapons and ammunition due to the evidence given by a detained militant involved in the June 22 attack, the regional operative staff for the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus told RIA Novosti.

According to its data, the cache was located on the way of militants' withdrawal after the attack.

"Policemen seized three handmade grenade launchers, RPG-18 and RPG-7 grenade launchers, an AKM assault rifle and 15 rocket launcher rounds," the staff reported.

VAZ-2107 and Mercedes Benz 600 hijacked on June 22 were found nearby.

A big amount of ammunition was discovered near Sernovodsk station in Ingushetia, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry's main department for the Southern federal district told RIA Novosti.

A servicemen of the Defense Ministry's task force tripped a handmade mine yesterday. He was wounded and hospitalized, the Interior Ministry added.
