GEORGIAN-OSSETUAN CLASH: TROUBLE-SHOOTERS CARRY ON DEBATES TOMORROW

MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - The Joint Control Commission for Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement will continue its Moscow conference tomorrow, Teimuraz Kussov said to the media. He co-chairs the quadripartite commission for North Ossetia, Russia's North Caucasian autonomy.

"The Parties have exchanged opinions, and come up with proposals for a final document. I hope a resolution will be ready tomorrow," he remarked.

It is a custom to withstand from commenting routine papers, pointed out Mr. Kussov, and so said only that an accord was reached on several essential clauses during the day.

The conferees are anxious to get to the end of their job, added Mikhail Mayorov, commission co-chair for Russia.

He hopes tomorrow will bring practical understandings-unlike the latest commission session, which the co-chairs left without making any resolutions.

Georgy Khaindrava, co-chair for Georgia, is also optimistic about tomorrow's session, with "constructive efforts underway". He repeated a warning made on several previous occasions-South Ossetian conflict settlement is ruled out unless heavy military technologies are pulled out and men Georgians refer to as "Russian paramilitaries" leave the conflict zone.

"The worst danger lies in places where there are paramilitaries and uncontrolled heavy vehicles. It is pointless to expect tensions brought down unless those issues are settled."

Be all that as it may, regional peace is to come as fruit of the current session-"we must come back from Moscow with peace," he emphasised.
