TBILISI, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - Georgian Prosecutor General Zurab Adeishvili believes that there can be "no talk" about immunity in regard to Aslan Abashidze.

On Tuesday, in a conversation with journalists in Tbilisi, he confirmed that a criminal case will be launched against the former leader of the Adzharian autonomy.

"As for 'security guarantees' given by the Georgian government to Aslan Abashidze during his departure from the country on May 6 [then, at the peak of the conflict between Abashidze and Saakashvili, when it seemed that Georgia was on the brink of a new civil war, the permanent leader of Adzharia yielded to Moscow's persuasions and left Batumi on board the plane of then Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov], I will note that when the situation deals with a large theft of state property, there can be no talk about immunity," said the Georgian prosecutor general.

"The talk is about numerous financial machinations, as a result of which about $20 million of state money landed in special funds and later went to private companies of Aslan Abashidze's family," said Zurab Adeishvili.
