KILOS OF HEROIN SEIZED IN SIBERIA

MOSCOW, July 4 - RIA Novosti. A group of drug traffickers carrying about 10 kilograms of heroin have been detained in the Siberian city of Surgut known for its vast oil and gas fields, the local police department told RIA Novosti over the telephone.

"Yesterday the criminal police of the city of Surgut, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Region, West Siberia, detained two unemployed Tajik citizens with 9.6 kilograms of heroin on them," a police official said.

According to the Russian Interior Ministry, ten regions reported yesterday 17 seizures of big batches of drugs, including 2.1 kilos of hashish and 1.5 kilos of hashish oil.
