MOSCOW, June 25 (RIA Novosti) - Patricia Hewitt, Great Britain's Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, is in Moscow on visit. She met in routine conference today with Alexei Kudrin, the host country's Finance Minister. Both are co-chairing a bilateral intergovernmental committee for trade and investment.

The conferees discussed what to do for closer Russian-UK commercial links and to promote capital investment. Both spoke up for further dynamic committee work in all fields its format envisages, Russia's Finance Ministry says in a press release.

Mr. Kudrin summed up Russian economic reform achievements for today. The federal top is determined to go on with reforms, and pace them up, he reassured the visitor.

The United Kingdom's official stance is for Russia to join the WTO and the OECD, stressed Ms. Hewitt.

The co-chairs think the committee ought to gather for its nearest session in Moscow, next autumn.
