The RIA Novosti correspondent reports from the courtroom that the Moscow arbitration court has satisfied the ministerial appeal regarding the May 19 court ruling suspending the resolutions of the taxation organs to charge Yukos 99.375 billion rubles (1 dollar approximately equals 29 rubles) of taxes additionally.
On April 11, 2004, the Tax Ministry passed the decision on additionally charging Yukos the above sum of taxes, penalties and fines.
The ministerial decision was suspended on May 19, 2004. The ministry took an appeal.
The ministerial representatives said in the courtroom that "the May 19 court ruling was made with violations of the Russian Arbitral Procedure Code and was ungrounded".
The appellate authority agreed with the Tax Ministry's reasoning.
