VLADIVOSTOK, June 18 (RIA Novosti's Anatoly Ilyukhov) - A friendly visit to the Republic of Korea over, two Russian frontier patrol vessels Primorye and Nevelsk have left the port of Pusan for Vladivostok. The visit over June 15-18 proceeded in a warm atmosphere, reports the Pacific regional press-service of the Federal Security Service FSB).

On June 16, Russian and South Korean frontier guards staged joint anti-terrorist exercises with the involvement of two patrol coastal ships, a FSB rapid-deployment force as well as six ships, two helicopters and a special Marines group of the National Sea Police Agency of South Korea. In all, 250 men took part.

Under the scenario of this war game, terrorists who "captured" a civilian vessel and "took all the crew hostage" had to be rendered harmless by joint action.

The exercises provided for the performance of the entire chain of an anti-terrorist operation: from receiving a signal on the capture of a vessel to the release of "the hostages", rendering medical aid to "the wounded", their evacuation to patrol ships, delivery to the shore as well as extinguishing fire on board the ship as "the terrorists" detonated an explosive device.

The command of the two countries have referred to the Russian frontier guards and South Korean sea policemen as having shown high competence and teamwork.

The sides exchanged opinions on how they should act to jointly intercept at sea arms smuggling, drug trafficking and poaching.

The Russian frontier guards paid visits to the Pusan Mayor's Office and the Russian general consulate and went sight-seeing.
