RUSSIA TO BUILD UP GAS EXPORTS TO SERBIA: GASPROM BOSS

MOSCOW, June 15 (RIA Novosti) - Radomir Naumov, Serbia's Mining and Energy Minister, is visiting Moscow. Alexei Miller, Board President of the Gasprom, Russia's leading and affluent gas holding, received him today to discuss partnership, corporate mammoth PR say in a press release.

The Serb government is actively working out a concept to settle former Yugoslav debts for gas imports from Russia, said the minister.

The negotiators also discussed chances for NIS Co. (Petroleum Industry of Serbia) to make a gas import contract up to the year's end, and Gasprom prospects to invest in Serb gas industrial projects.

The Gasexport, Gasprom affiliate, has been responsible since 2001 for natural gas exports to countries formerly within Yugoslavia on a contract with the NIS government company.

Serb imports of Russian gas made 1.873 billion cubic metres last year. Two to 2.1 billion cu m is expected for this year.
