TBILISI, June 14 (RIA Novosti) - Georgian Ambassador to Russia Konstantin Kemularia may be appointed as Chair of Georgia's Supreme Court, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili announced at a news conference Monday.

The President said he considered Mr. Kemularia to be the strongest candidate for the job, but added that it would difficult to find a worthy successor in the post of Ambassador.

Georgian-Russian relations are developing rather dynamically now, so the change of the ambassador will be a problematic point, Mr. Saakashvili acknowledged, but said that the Supreme Court chairmanship was an equally demanding job.

The position of Georgia's Supreme Court Chair has been vacant since Lado Chanturia resigned last week after five years in office. He has been appointed as Presidential Advisor for Legal Affairs.
