MOSCOW, June 11 (RIA Novosti) - Russia firmly insists on the imposition of a single EU veterinary certificate on October 1, Russian Agricultural Minister Alexei Gordeev told journalists.

"Talking of the supply of livestock products and the Russian demand to have a single veterinary certificate, we are firmly in for it", he said.

There are now two standards for the supply of animal husbandry products, he said.

First, the export of Russian products, following tough rules; second, easier and simplified, is applied to the import from countries of the European Union, he stressed.

"We have agreed with the EU to hold final talks during three months. Our firm demand is that a single certificate on animal husbandry products be introduced from October 1", he emphasised.
