GAZPROM AND TNK-BP TO PUMP GAS TO ASIAN-PACIFIC COUNTRIES ALONG ONE TRUNK PIPE

MOSCOW, JUNE 3 (RIA Novosti) - Meeting on Thursday, Alexei Miller, chairman of the board of the Gazprom Co., and Victor Vekselberg, production and technologies managing director of TNK (Tyumen oil company)-British Petroleum, have agreed upon the use of a single export pipe to pump gas from fields in East Siberia to countries in the Asian-Pacific region, says the Gazprom communique.

The agreement was reached in discussing development prospects of the Kovyktinskoe gas condensate field.

Vekselberg said that the gas export negotiations on the terms of sale included the volume, timeframe and pricing should be held by Gazprom's subsidiary Gazexport.

Kovyktinskoe is found in the Irkutsk region 450 kilometres north-east of the city of Irkutsk. Its prospected reserves of natural gas are estimated at 1,900 billion cubic metres.
