TBILISI, June 1 (RIA Novosti's Marina Kvaratskhelia) - South Osset commandos stranded Georgian delegates and journalists who were accompanying Sandra Roelofs, wife of Georgia's President Mikhail Saakashvili, on a trip to the unrecognised republic.

The First Lady visited Tamarasheni, a Georgian-populated village in South Ossetia, and bravely determined to go on by car to Tskhinvali, republican capital, and return to Georgia the same way. What followed was really harassing. Local special force officers, grenade-throwers at the ready, blocked her motorcade the instant it appeared in the town. Sandra Roelofs' bodyguards wisely determined to fly her off by helicopter, the Rustavi 2 television reports from Tskhinvali.

Many of her fellow-travellers are staying behind-Georgi Ugulava, Georgia's Deputy State Security Minister; Mikhail Kareli, Shida-Kartli regional governor; and a Georgian media team.
