MOSCOW, June 1 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom may take part in purchasing assets of the Russian largest oil company Yukos, should they be put up for sale. Vlada Rusakova, head of Gazprom's strategic development department and member of the Gazprom board, said this to journalists Tuesday.

The Yukos management stated recently that the company would probably be declared bankrupt before the end of this year.

In Vlada Rusakova's words, Gazprom produces 10 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons now. By 2015, the gas concern is planning to increase their output to 20-25 million tons.

At the end of last year, Gazprom started the development of the Valanzhinsky gas condensate reservoirs on the En-Yakhinsky field and brought 23 wells of the Yamburg field upstream. This will make it possible to increase liquid hydrocarbons production and processing in Western Siberia.

On the whole, there was an increase in liquid hydrocarbons production in 2003. Gas condensate was mostly extracted from the Astrakhan, Urengoi and Yamburg fields. Oil was extracted from the oil rims of the Urengoi and Orenburg fields.

In connection with Gazprom's switchover to centralised sales of liquid hydrocarbons from January 1, 2003, the company worked out programmes of automated routine accounting for the sales of the company's products.
