PARIS, May 31 (RIA Novosti) - "A Shared Victory" is the name of a photograph exposition opening in Paris tomorrow. It commemorates the 60th anniversary of Operation Overlord, Allied invasion of Normandy in the French north, and one of the crucial events of World War II. Not only the Allied countries will celebrate its start, June 6. The galas will involve the entire Europe and reach far outside it in memory of the defeat of nazism.

The show is arranged in the exposition hall of the Arc de Triomphe in Place Charles de Gaulle-one of sightseers' principal attractions in Paris, close to the Unknown Soldier's Tomb with its eternal fire.

The exhibits come from RIA Novosti and Russia's Central Museum of the Armed Forces. Of the greatest interests are inimitable frontline snapshots by Alexander Ustinov, Alexei Mezhuyev and other top-notch Russian war correspondents. There are scenes of sanguinary battles in the Soviet-German front; of Allied summits in Teheran, 1943, and Yalta, 1945; and of the Allied troops jubilantly coming together on the Elbe in Germany, April 1945.

The exposition offers portraits of French pilots of the valiant Normandie-Niemen squadron, which brought down 273 German planes throughout the war.

More than five thousand Russian heroes of the Resistance laid down their life in France.

Two surviving Resistance veterans, Oleg Ozerov and Gleb Plaksin, will visit the Paris show and take part in jubilee galas in Normandy.
