MOSCOW HOSTED 2ND RUSSIAN FIREWORKS FESTIVAL

MOSCOW, May 30 - RIA Novosti. The Russian capital has hosted the 2nd Russian Fireworks Festival devoted to the 615th anniversary of the first "entertainment fires" of 1389.

The festival involved 10 professional fireworks providers from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine, who fired their compositions into the sky from the Pushkinskaya Naberezhnaya embankment of the Gorky Park.

Each participant had five minutes for his fireworks show performed to classical and modern music. The whole performance watched by thousands of Muscovites lasted for about an hour.

As in the previous year, the Golden Cup winner was Moscow-based Piro-Klass company for their show Triumph; [the St. Petersburg-based company] Pirotekhnicheskiye Dvory Petergofa got the Silver Cup for the Sparkling Night Moscow show, and the Bronze Cup for the Night Symphony went to Yekaterinburg's Spetseffekt-E.

Next year's fireworks festival will have the winner in the jury, which organizers believe will encourage more pyrotechnical companies to participate.
