BAKU, May 24 (RIA Novosti) - "Russia has overcome its energy crisis-the whole country and its individual parts alike," Anatoli Chubais, United Russian Power Grid. Co. president, reassured a news conference in Baku, Azeri capital in Transcaucasia.

"Last winter, and three preceding winters, too, did not see a single energy crisis in whatever part of the country. The crisis is over-in that respect, at least." The holding has coped fine with anti-crisis management. It has no payment predicaments, and its capitalisation has skyrocketed from three billion US dollars to fourteen. "So we have every chance to make progress." The company is willing to invest in Azeri power grids. "Our good current situation and prospects of further improvement allow us to talk seriously with serious partners." Mr. Chubais chose not to specify the amount of blueprinted capital investment in the Azeri economy. "We are a step off from it. We have determined a strategy. A joint ad hoc team will proceed from it to pinpoint lucrative investment projects-and investment will come up." A Russian capital inflow in Azeri power plants is quite possible, he added.

"We received a good impetus to promote the two countries' shared interests. This visit might be short, but it was fruitful," said the electricity boss to sum up his one-day sojourn in Baku.
