RUSSIA AND VIETNAM FOREIGN MINISTERS STATE CLOSENESS OF POSITIONS ON KEY WORLD POLITICS

MOSCOW, May 18 (RIA Novosti) - At a meeting in Moscow on Tuesday, foreign ministers Sergei Lavrov of Russia and Nguyen Dy Nien of Vietnam stated the closeness of positions of their countries on the key questions of world politics, says the communique of the Russian Foreign Ministry on results of the ministerial meeting.

"The conversation between the heads of the foreign policy establishments of Russia and Vietnam passed in the atmosphere of friendship and understanding, traditional for relations between the two countries", the communique reads. "The sides exchanged opinions on a wide range of questions of Russian-Vietnamese interaction and topical international problems".

"The ministers stated with satisfaction the closeness of positions on the key questions of world politics. The priority nature of bilateral economic cooperation and the presence of a considerable potential for its build-up were noted", the communique goes on to read.

"Mutual interest in the further coordination of efforts within the framework of multilateral diplomacy and Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership were expressed", reports the Russian Foreign Ministry.
