"A real economic war was declared to the people of Transdniestria," Transdniestrian National Security Minister Vladimir Antyufeyev said on Saturday.
According to him, "the Moldovan authorities organized political, diplomatic and information blockades against the region. This is little short of new aggression".
"The unpredictable and unstable position of official Chisinau points out to its inability to settle the Transdniestrian conflict by just means. Chisinau is dragging out the negotiations," Mr. Antyufeyev said. (Under pressure of the street Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin refused to sign the initialed memorandum on the Transdniestrian settlement at the last moment. The memorandum was drafted by the Russian side and maximally took into account the interests of the conflicting sides).
"We are concerned about Moldova's demands to withdraw Russian troops from Transdniestria and deploy western units here," the minister stressed.
