MOSCOW, May 14 (RIA Novosti) - The causes for suicides among servicemen in Russia's army are hazing and abuse, family problems, unrequited love, each accounting for about 30 percent.

Journalists learnt this on Friday from Victor Boguslavski, first deputy head of the Main Department for Educational Work of the Russian Defence Ministry.

"The problem of suicides has been worsening of late in the Russian army, including among officers", he said.

To Boguslavski, the bulk of suicides among soldiers on active service falls on the first six months. As regards officers, the main suicidal reason is the conditions of day-to-day life, he added.
