SPANISH GOVERNMENT CONDEMNS TODAY'S TERROR ACT IN CHECHNYA

MADRID, May 9 (RIA Novosti's Juan Cobo) - In a message to Moscow, the Spanish government strongly denounces today's act of terrorism in the Chechen capital of Grozny and expresses its solidarity with the Russian people.

According to Spain's National Radio, the Jose Luis Zapatero government also extends condolences to the families of those killed in the May 9 terror act and re-emphasizes its determination to continue the fight against international terrorism.

A bomb went off this morning in the VIP section of Grozny's Dynamo stadium where ceremonies to mark V-E Day were being held. Chechen President Ahmad Kadyrov was one of the four people killed in the resultant blast. Forty-two others were wounded.
