EU FOREIGN POLICY CHIEF TO CONDEMN TODAY'S TERRORIST ACT IN CHECHNYA IN AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT

BRUSSELS, May 9 (RIA Novosti's Alexander Shishlo) - European Union foreign policy Chief Javier Solana has denounced the latest terrorist act in the Chechen capital of Grozny, his press service reports.

Solana will send a letter with condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin later today, the press service says. He is also preparing an official statement to condemn the attack.

A bomb went off this morning in the VIP section of Grozny's Dynamo stadium where ceremonies to mark V-E Day were being held. Chechen President Ahmad Kadyrov was killed in the resultant blast.
