MOSCOW, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - No major incidents during today's May Day rallies and marches in Moscow are reported.

Demonstrators and police have clashed at several sites across the city, but only verbally; no one has been detained for offenses against public order, this according to Kirill Mazurin, official spokesman for Moscow's Interior Department.

About 50,000 people have taken part in Moscow's May Day rallies amid tight security today, with over 4,000 security troops maintaining law and order, Mazurin said. According to him, streets downtown have now been reopened for traffic.
