BAKU, April 30 (RIA Novosti's Gerai Dadashev) - After the 10th meeting of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization for Black Sea Economic Cooperation (OBSEC), held on Friday in Baku, the head of the Russian delegation Deputy Foreign Minister, Victor Kaluzhni commented on the outcomes of the meeting for RIA Novosti.

He noted that it is hard to assess the results unambiguously.

"There are a lot of problems within the organization which complicates the case," said Kaluzhni. "We think it necessary to dwell on economic cooperation. It was the main reason for founding the OBSEC organization. We would like the OBSEC to be an economic organization rather than political one," he added.

At the same time Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabashvili noted in her speech that "the OBSEC must not only promote economic cooperation but must serve as a guarantor for stability and security in the region." During the meeting an Azerbaijan foreign ministry official, Altai Efendiev was appointed the Deputy Secretary General of the OBSEC organization.

All the member states participated in the meeting - Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Ukraine, Turkey, and, for the first time, Serbia and Montenegro.
