PUTIN APPOINTS NEW GENERAL DIRECTOR FOR ROSOBORONEXPORT

MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti) - Vladimir Putin has issued the decree appointing Sergei Chemezov as the general director of the Federal Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronexport (the exporter of Russian arms and military hardware), RIA Novosti learnt from the Kremlin press service on Wednesday.

Chemezov Sergei Victorovich was born on August 20, 1952 in the town of Cheremkhovo of the Irkutsk region (Siberia).

In 1975 graduated from the Irkutsk National Economy Institute.

Upon graduation worked at the Irkutsk Rare and Non-Ferrous Metals Research Institute. Starting in 1980, at the experimental-industrial association Luch.

In 1983-1988 headed the experimental-industrial association Luch in the GDR. Upon return to Russia, established the foreign-trade association Sovintersport and was its deputy director for eight years.

Starting in 1996, worked in the Russian Presidential Household Department and then led the Foreign Economic Relations Department in the presidential administration. In September 13, 1999 to November 4, 2000 - the general director of the Federal Unitary Enterprise Promexport.

Since late November 2000 - the first deputy general director of the Federal Unitary Enterprise Rosoboronexport.
