RUSSIAN FINANCE MINISTRY CONTINUES TO REPAY IMF DEBTS

MOSCOW, April 23 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian Federation's Ministry of Finance has repaid part of this country's IMF (International Monetary Fund) debts right on schedule April 23.

Talking to RIA Novosti, Finance Ministry officials noted that $129,983,600 were paid out this time.

This is the second April payment in the given debt category.

Meanwhile the third and fourth payments are slotted for the April 29-30 period.

A debt-servicing payment is due to be made May 1. However, May 1 is an official holiday in Russia; consequently, the relevant sum total will also be repaid April 30, Finance Ministry people stressed.

All in all, Russia is to pay about $1.7 billion to the IMF before the year is out.
