NOVOSIBIRSK, April 22 (RIA Novosti) - The concatenation of circumstances was the basic cause for the accident at the "Taizhina" mine in the town of Osinniki Kemerovo region (the region in the southern part of Western Siberia known as Kuznetsk Basin). It was reported by the press service of the regional administration on Thursday.

The chairman of the state commission and the head of the Energy Service Sergei Oganesyan reported the results: "The commission came to the conclusion that the motion of lava caused rock failure in the conveyer drift." "It caused methane release," said Oganesyan. According to him, the break of high-voltage cable resulted in short circuit which caused an explosion.

"The explosion in its turn caused the appearance of some coal dust which initiated other explosions and resulted in rock failure and casualties," noted Oganesyan.

The Kemerovo Deputy Governor Anatoli Dupin said that the "Taizhina" miners returned to coalfaces.

They clear the drifts caused by the explosion and repair damaged devices," he said. The terms of the mining recovery were not reported by the regional administration.

According to experts, the coal reserves of the mine amount to more than 10 million metric tons. The accident took place on April 10. 47 miners died.
