ALMATY, April 22 (RIA Novosti) - President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan proposed that Jewish and Muslim religious leaders hold a meeting in Kazakhstan to find a Middle East settlement.

Addressing the 3rd Eurasian Media Forum in Almaty on Thursday, the president called on leading Jewish and Muslim religious figures to find the will and desire to meet and discuss the issue of the settlement of the Middle East conflict.

Mr. Nazarbayev suggested that such a meeting be held in Kazakhstan.

He said that other countries in the world should not avoid this, as the Middle East conflict, in his opinion, poses a threat for the entire world.

The president expressed regret that the efforts that politicians from various countries have been taking to resolve this issue remain futile so far.
