TBILISI, April 17 (RIA Novosti's Marina Kvaratskhelia) - Georgia and Abkhazia are going to discuss prospects of international security guarantees in the territory of Abkhazia (self-proclaimed republic in Georgia, where a Russian peacekeeping contingent was brought to following bloody clashes in the early 1990s).

The meeting between the Georgian and Abkhaz delegations will be held on the UN initiative in the Geneva Strategic Research Institute on April 21 through 23, RIA Novosti learnt from the United Nations' Tbilisi office.

The Georgian side will be represented by Georgy Khaindrava, state minister for conflict settlement, the Abkhaz side will be headed by Sergei Shamba, foreign minister de facto.

"Conferees will consider several projects of international security guarantees which, on order from the United Nations, were developed by the Swiss Strategic Research Institute and the Strategic Research Center of the Russian Federation," said the UN Tbilisi office.

International military experts have also been invited to the meeting.
