STATE DUMA REJECTED PROPOSAL TO INVITE PRIME MINISTER FRADKOV TO "GOVERNMENT HOUR"

MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti) - The State Duma rejected the proposal to invite Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov to the "government hour".

Vice-speaker of the lower chamber from the Rodina faction Sergei Babourin proposed inviting Mr. Fradkov to provide information on the concept of the administrative reform, as well as on the priorities of the government's activity.

Besides that, in Mr. Babourin's opinion, in the government it is necessary to restore the post of Deputy Prime Minister for social policy.

Plenipotentiary representative of Russia's government in the State Duma Andrei Loginov said that he considers Mr. Babourin's proposal to be pure in the situation when "the administrative reform has just started." As many as 130 deputies voted for the proposal of the State Duma vice-speaker from the Rodina faction, 74 voted against it, and one abstained, the necessary number of votes for approving it being 226.
