KIEV, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is ready to help citizens of Ukraine and other countries, working in Iraq, if they want to be evacuated from that country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a Kiev press conference today.

"If need be, the Russian side has worked out measures to evacuate Ukrainian and other citizens working for Russian companies," said Mr. Lavrov.

"The decision on the possible evacuation is to be adopted by companies and workers themselves. But if they need help from the state in ensuring their security, such assistance will be provided," said the Russian foreign minister.

At the same time, Mr. Lavrov stressed that no excessive measures that could spoil everything should be taken.

"Security of Russian experts and citizens working in Russian companies on contracts is extremely important. All the necessary measures to provide this security have been taken in advance," said the Russian chief diplomat.
