WASHINGTON, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Sean O'Keefe, head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, has sent a message of greetings to his Russian colleague Anatoli Perminov on the occasion of the Cosmonautics Day.

My warmest greetings to you and staffers of the Russian Space Agency on the Cosmonautics Day. Its staffers can be proud that today we all together mark the day, O'Keefe's says in the message, circulated by the press service.

Russia's share in the exploration of space is vast and variform, from man's space mission to discoveries in the Solar system, he says.

I'm proud that our courageous explorers, such as astronaut Michael Foale and cosmonaut Alexander Kaleri in the ISS, and Gennadi Padalka and Mike Fincke, who have undergone pre-flight training, continue the tradition of Yuri Gagarin and enrich our knowledge of the unknown, says the message of the NASA head.
