MINSK, April 10 (RIA Novosti) - A delegation of the Moscow Government headed by Deputy Mayor Valery Shantsev is on a working visit to Brest (a Belarussian city on the border with Poland).

A spokesperson for the Brest Region Administration told RIA Novosti on Saturday that the two sides discussed prospects for construction of a shopping center in the west of Moscow as well as a land swap project for housing development.

The delegation from Moscow is expected to visit the Brest Dairy Plant and the Belarussian-German joint venture Santa Bremor producing the well-known Matias herring.

On Friday, the delegation of the Moscow Government arrived in Minsk where the two sides signed agreements on establishing the Moscow-Belarus Council for Business Cooperation, collaboration in the field of business support and in the sphere of mass media and information.

It was pointed out during the talks that the two parties viewed joint production of buses and trolley buses, food supplies to Moscow and development of retail trade networks as the most important areas of cooperation. In all, the parties identified as many as 15 vital areas for bilateral cooperation, a spokesperson for the Belarussian Foreign Ministry said. In addition, Belarus and Moscow intend to annually increase their trade turnover by 30-35 percent.

In 2003, the Belarus-Moscow trade turnover amounted to $4.6 billion, with Moscow accounting for 41 percent of the republic's overall trade with Russia.
